It all started with a giveaway…
I love being part of weddings, but when you are part of more than just a wedding, its very special to me. I cyber met Abby when she was the lucky winner of my couple shoot giveaway in 2019, but little did I know that I was the lucky one for her to win it.
I think we immediately hit it off, we chatted about veganism, she directed me to vegan books, recipes and random voice notes, I drooled over her food on instagram account and wished I knew what to do with pots and pans! We finally met up in the Tsitsikamma forests, also this is when I finally got to meet Kenneth, but I kinda think he looks like Clarke Kent (yes superman, rolling eyes), we laughed and joked, chatted about work, how they met and elopement…
Obviously we became Facebook friends and the next thing I see them jetting off to Canada, next thing, there is a RING! And I am sure the moment their feet hit South African soil we were chatting about wedding plans, dates and ideas. June 2020, Covid, July 2020, Covid, August 2020, Covid, 26th September 2020, just wasn’t meant to be, 2nd October 2020!!!! But little did people know the day before lockdown was enforced these two little squirrels decided to get MARRIED! A surprise to everyone that was present on the 2nd of October! Their faces were priceless!
Just as we experienced indifferent weather for their couple shoot, Port Elizabeth dished out 60km/h east winds and rain. That was okay we were spoilt with coffee and delicious food, enjoying everyones company and taking a photo or two. Kenneth (the official wedding planner) came and chatted to me, what do you think about the weather, and well I am sure I looked a little concerned, but little did I know he had a plan up his superman sleeve!
He and Abby booked a couple of nights at Emily Moon (in Plettenberg Bay), and suggested let’s do the couple shoot there. I have never been more proud of a groom in my entire life! YES YES YESSSSS! Emily Moon is for me so freakin beautiful and when Abby and Kenneth arrived, they totally agreed!
So I got to spend a couple more hours with these two incredible humans! This is what we created!
Abby, thank you for entering my giveaway. You and Kenneth are honestly two SUPER-hu-MAN’s and I find myself humbled by your love for each other, your family and friends. And I am so lucky to have been part of your day. Thank you for letting myself and Kate scream bangers and Oh MY WORD, this light is AMAZING!
I swear I couldn’t love you more than I do right now, and yet I know I will tomorrow – Leo Christopher
