So you have planned your dream wedding along the Garden Route and most likely in Plettenberg Bay. But how are you going to entertain 100 guests?

Plettenberg Bay has so much to offer, from pristine blue flag beaches, nature reserves, golf courses, animal sanctuaries, wine farms, adventure excursions, vibey restaurants and decent coffee hubs. All in the radius of 20km. There is something for everyone.

This is my own selected list of must do adventures in Plettenberg Bay.



Enjoy a festive al fresco breakfast and lunch dining experience at Café Pure, located within The Junction Hotel on Main Street. Refreshing drinks, great food and a spirited neighbourhood vibe, Café Pure is a must! Their harvest table is always abundant with locally produced yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats, seasonal fruits and freshly baked breads. If you would like a hot breakfast, the signature ciabatta with salmon poached egg and cream cheese is for you!

The Crags is home to a number of local wine farms just a short drive from each other.

Bramon is set in the vineyards overlooking views of the gorgeous Tsitsikamma Mountains. Fresh tapas-styled dishes combined with their collection of award-winning wines makes it a must visit.

Kay and Monty is nestled in the heart of the the Plett Winelands. With the original farmhouse converted into luxury accommodation, Kay and Monty is a popular boutique wine farm for many occasions. Enjoy a languid lunch of cheese platters, artisan breads and wine.

Situated just off to N2 between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay is the Garden Route Wolf Sanctuary. Interact with the friendly wolf dogs, gorgeous huskies and learn new and interesting facts about these amazing animals. The interactive tours allow you to observe the wolves up close. A very informative tour suitable for the whole family.

The Robberg Nature Reserve is situated 8km south of Plettenberg Bay in the Garden Route. More than just a reserve, Robberg is also a national monument and World Heritage Site. Visitors can find out all about the age-old rock formations at the Nelson Bay Cave interpretive centre – just a short hike from the main parking lot. The full Robberg hike is perfect for nature lovers – offering endless ocean views, local flora and views of seals, birds as well as whales and dolphins depending on the time of year.

Birds of Eden is home to a unique two hectare dome spanning over a gorge of indigenous forest. The world’s largest free flight aviary and bird sanctuary, Birds of Eden is currently home to over 3,500 birds from over 220 species. The beautiful walk through the aviary is an unforgettable experience.

Monkeyland, located just a short stroll from Birds of Eden, is the world’s first free roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary. The mission is to educate and foster greater understanding of our primates cousins and the threats they are facing.

The Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary’s primary focus is conservation education, as well as creating widespread awareness of large predators in captivity in both SA and worldwide. Jukani is an informative experience with a great message.

Why not view Plettenberg Bay from a different angle? Stepping out of an aircraft over 3kms high over the sea, free falling, and landing on Central Beach – yes please!
