Photographing Niamh and Mike again was like catching up with old friends, but this time, there was a new addition to their family—their adorable little boy, Barra. Having captured their wedding a couple of years ago at Grand Africa Lookout Beach, it was an absolute pleasure to see them again, this time for a family shoot at Robberg 5 Beach in Plettenberg Bay.
The morning was partly cloudy, with soft light filtering through the clouds, creating the perfect conditions for a relaxed and intimate family shoot. Robberg 5 Beach, with its wide sandy shore and gentle waves, provided a stunning backdrop for the session. The beach was quiet, offering us the perfect setting to capture some beautiful and natural moments.
From the moment we started, it was clear that Niamh and Mike were as deeply in love as ever, and their joy in becoming parents was evident. Barra, with his bright eyes and curious nature, was the star of the show. Watching them interact, you could feel the deep bond they share as a family. Barra’s excitement to explore the beach was contagious, and it made for some truly heartwarming moments.
The session became even more special when both sets of grandparents arrived. It was heartwarming to see the joy on their faces as they joined in on the fun, clearly thrilled to be spending time with their grandson. The love and pride they felt for Niamh, Mike, and Barra were evident in every smile and laugh.
Capturing the interactions between Barra and his grandparents was a highlight of the shoot. Whether it was playing in the sand, sharing a cuddle, or just enjoying a quiet moment together, these were memories that I know will be treasured for years to come.
Throughout the session, the atmosphere was light and filled with laughter. Niamh and Mike’s joy at watching their son play, combined with the love and support of their parents, created a beautiful, relaxed vibe. It was one of those shoots where everything just clicked—the setting, the people, the moments.
Seeing Niamh and Mike again, now as parents, was incredibly rewarding. Capturing the evolution of their love story, from their wedding day to now, as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood, is why I love what I do.
The images we created at Robberg 5 Beach are a testament to the power of family and the joy that comes from being surrounded by loved ones. It was an honor to document this chapter of their lives, and I’m grateful to have been part of such a special day.
