Lindsay and Mike, you two have been an absolute dream from the very beginning. Every email, every WhatsApp, every planning session just made me more excited for your adventure. We chatted about locations, timelines, weather (because… Iceland 😂), back-up plans and all the little details that make an elopement feel truly personal. I had been looking forward to these two days for such a long time.
Well, Iceland had other plans.
We left Reykjavík ridiculously early to catch sunrise at Reynisfjara Black Beach. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to welcome us with absolutely POURING rain. The kind of rain that makes you question every life decision that brought you to a black beach before sunrise.
So, we did what every sensible person should do.
We found the cutest little crêpe shop in Vík, ordered warm crêpes, laughed about our luck and waited to see what Iceland had in store for us next.
And honestly looking back at it now, I wouldn’t have changed a thing, this was the way Iceland decided for us.
As we made our way east, the rain finally eased and the incredible moss fields appeared, giving us our first opportunity to get out and explore. Those endless green landscapes never stop amazing me and they made the perfect beginning to our adventure.
From there we made our way to Skaftafell Glacier. There is something incredibly humbling about standing in front of thousands of years of ice, and it was the perfect reminder of just how wild and beautiful Iceland really is. The contrast of colours and layers of ice, sigh, I have to pinch myself every single time I stand in front of these majestic glaciers.
Then it was time for one of my favourite places in the entire country, Múlagljúfur Canyon.
If you’ve never been there before, imagine towering cliffs, waterfalls disappearing into the distance and views that simply don’t seem real. It was here that Lindsay and Mike exchanged their vows and did their hand fastening, surrounded by nothing but Iceland’s incredible landscapes. It was quiet, emotional and one of those moments that reminds me exactly why I love photographing elopements.
After an unforgettable first day, we headed to our accommodation before setting off again later that evening with one mission…
Find the Northern Lights.
Luck was finally on our side.
Standing at Diamond Beach with pieces of ice scattered along the shoreline while the Aurora danced above us is something I don’t think any of us will ever forget. It felt like Iceland was apologising for the weather that morning and decided to give us a pretty incredible reward instead.
The following morning started much more kindly.
We arrived at Stokksnes for sunrise and were treated to one of those beautiful Iceland mornings that photographers dream about. Soft light, dramatic mountains and those black sand dunes created the perfect backdrop for more adventures together.
Before making our way back west, we stopped at the breathtaking Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Watching giant icebergs slowly drift towards the ocean is always one of my favourite parts of any trip and it was the perfect way to finish exploring Iceland’s southeast coast.
Of course, we couldn’t finish an Iceland adventure without one final stop.

Standing beside one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, cold Viking beers in hand, laughing about everything we’d experienced over the last two days, felt like the perfect ending to an unforgettable adventure together.
Lindsay and Mike, thank you both for trusting us with such an important chapter of your lives.
Thank you for embracing every change of plan, every kilometre driven, every weather forecast that made absolutely no sense, and every adventure Iceland threw at us. You reminded me that the best days aren’t always the ones that go exactly to plan they’re the ones you embrace together.
I absolutely loved spending these two days with you both, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better adventure.
