Nadia and Ruben’s engagement shoot at Robberg Nature Reserve was nothing short of a wild and unforgettable adventure. With their wedding just around the corner at Seeplaas in Mossel Bay, I was thrilled to capture this fun and energetic session. The setting, the couple, and the incredible sunset all came together to create a truly epic experience.
From the moment we arrived at Robberg, it was clear that this shoot was going to be something special. Nadia and Ruben were full of energy and ready to embrace the wild beauty of the reserve. The vibe was light-hearted and playful, perfectly matching their adventurous spirits.
As the sun began to dip towards the horizon, casting a warm, golden light across the landscape, we kicked off the session with a bang—literally. Nadia and Ruben brought two bottles of champagne, and as they popped the corks, the bubbly sprayed everywhere it was madness! And I freakin LOVE IT!
We made our way down to the water’s edge, where the real adventure began. Nadia and Ruben didn’t hesitate to get a little wet and wild. We found a beautiful tidal pool, the water calm and clear, they laid down in the water, completely immersed in the moment and each other. The result was a series of stunningly intimate shots that perfectly captured their love and connection.
We made our way back to the beach and as the waves rolled in, we moved to the edge of the water, sitting together as the ocean crashed around them. The power of the waves combined with the softness of the sunset made for some truly dramatic images. Nadia’s laughter as a wave splashed over them, and Ruben’s protective embrace, were moments of pure joy that I was so excited to capture.
To cap off the shoot, Nadia and Ruben brought out two small bottles of Jägermeister. In true fun-loving fashion (and their tradition), they toasted to their future with shots. It was a perfect end to an incredible session—a mix of romance, adventure, and just the right amount of wildness.
As the sun finally dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the shoot, all of us (me mostly) grinning from ear to ear. Nadia and Ruben’s engagement session at Robberg Nature Reserve was an absolute blast, and I’m beyond excited to see them again at their wedding later this year. If this shoot was any indication, their wedding day is going to be one for the books!
