WHY COUPLES CHOOSE IT

Why couples choose Nima

Nima is what happens when architecture and forest agree with each other, black-timber cabins, outdoor baths facing the trees, and a calm that makes big weddings feel beside the point. Kiara & Lourens’s engagement shoot here sold me completely: the light through that forest is a collaborator, not a backdrop.
The lodge has productised the elopement properly, celebrant, florals, chef dinner, even the photo session, wrapped into the Vow package, so couples arrive and simply get married, beautifully.

THROUGH SHARYN’S LENS

Photographing a wedding at Nima

Forest light at Nima is soft and directional through the day, the deck ceremony photographs beautifully without harsh-hour worry, and the cabins’ black timber makes couples pop in every frame. The outdoor baths give the gallery its signature intimate frames, and the waterfall trails below turn a thirty-minute walk into an adventure session.
Elopements here are about slowness: I shoot them documentary-first, letting the forest set the pace.
PLANNING AROUND THE LIGHT

A timeline shaped around your date.

Sunrise and sunset shift throughout the year, so there is no single perfect ceremony time at Nima. I build each timeline around the sunset time on your actual date, the ceremony space, the weather and the forest’s filtered light around the cabins and deck.

MAR TO SEP

March – September

The sun sits lower and golden light arrives earlier in the afternoon. The hillside holds gentle light through winter afternoons, ceremonies sit midday-to-early-afternoon with the forest glowing softly around.
OCT TO FEB

October – February

Days run long and the light stays strong late. Summer light filters green and long, later deck ceremonies flow into forest-trail portraits as the evening cools.
YOUR DATE

Your personal timeline

Once your date is confirmed, I work backwards from sunset and create a photography timeline around your ceremony, portraits and reception, with enough flexibility for weather and the unplanned moments that make the day yours.
THE RHYTHM

NEED TO KNOW

Before you book.

A photographer’s answers to the questions couples ask most often about Nima Lodge. Venue details and packages can change, so confirm the final information directly.

It’s built for elopements and micro-weddings, the Vow package works around eight to fourteen guests across the cabins.

The Luna deck ceremony with celebrant coordination, florals, bubbly, a private-chef dinner and a photo session, genuinely turnkey.

In the hills at Wilderness (Ten Mile area) on the Garden Route, older listings say Sedgefield; the lodge brands itself Wilderness.

The forest light, black-timber cabins and outdoor baths make it one of the most naturally photogenic elopement settings on the Garden Route.

ALREADY IMAGINING IT?

Getting married at Nima?

Small weddings are my favourite weddings, and Nima’s forest light is a gift. If you’re eloping here, the Vow package and I will take care of everything.
