WHY COUPLES CHOOSE IT

Why couples choose The Rose Pavilion

Six thousand roses change what a wedding smells like, never mind what it looks like. Bosky Dell’s garden holds a World Federation ‘Garden of Excellence’ award, and the Pavilion sits in the middle of it, I’ve photographed two weddings on this farm (Mel & Andrew, and Marijke & Tyrone) and the roses stole scenes at both.
Practical magic too: fully weatherproof spaces, BYO bar with no corkage, and the whole farm, vines, dam, forest, as your portrait garden. One property, two names: Bosky Dell is the farm, the Rose Pavilion is its venue.

THROUGH SHARYN’S LENS

Photographing a wedding at The Rose Pavilion

November to April the garden peaks, and I shoot it like a set: rose walls for close portraits, the long beds for the walking frames, and the Pavilion glowing at dusk in the middle of it all. Outside peak bloom the farm still delivers, twelve hectares of vines, the dam, the forest edge, so no date is a bad date here; the roses are the bonus, not the whole hand.
The Conservatory’s glass makes ceremony light forgiving in any weather, this is one of the few venues where I genuinely never check the forecast twice.
PLANNING AROUND THE LIGHT

A timeline shaped around your date.

Sunrise and sunset shift throughout the year, so there is no single perfect ceremony time at The Rose Pavilion. I build each timeline around the sunset time on your actual date, the ceremony space, the weather and the rose garden’s bloom cycle and the Conservatory’s glass light.

MAR TO SEP

March – September

The sun sits lower and golden light arrives earlier in the afternoon. Outside peak bloom the vines and forest carry the portraits, and the low sun reaches the Pavilion early, earlier ceremonies suit the season.
OCT TO FEB

October – February

Days run long and the light stays strong late. Peak rose season, later ceremonies keep guests cool and land the garden’s colour in the softest light of the day.
YOUR DATE

Your personal timeline

Once your date is confirmed, I work backwards from sunset and create a photography timeline around your ceremony, portraits and reception, with enough flexibility for weather and the unplanned moments that make the day yours.
