December family shoots are such fun and the Ross family got to enjoy one of Plett’s beach beaches in Keurboomstrand. Our sunsets are spectacular, our beaches clean and ocean warm! Located just outside Plettenberg Bay on South Africa’s breathtaking Garden Route, Keurboomstrand is one of my favorite locations for relaxed, natural family photography. Known for its wide sandy beaches, rolling dunes, and dramatic ocean views, it offers the perfect balance between wild beauty and easy accessibility. Sunset sessions here are something special, soft golden light reflects off the water, the mountains glow in the distance, and families can simply move, play, and be together without feeling posed or rushed.
What makes this stretch of coastline even more magical is the wildlife that often shares the moment. From seasonal whale sightings just offshore to dolphins surfing the waves along the beach, Keurboomstrand brings a quiet sense of wonder to every family shoot. Being so close to Plettenberg Bay and the heart of the Garden Route means every session feels like part of a bigger adventure, one that blends ocean air, open space, and meaningful memories into photographs that feel honest, warm, and deeply connected to this beautiful part of South Africa.
