Weather mood swing, crazy horses and a BANGING sunset!
Another 2020 dream wedding completed. Sharlize and Adriaan, what a PERFECT day. The wait was worth it!
Sharlize and Adriaan’s original date, the 30th May 2020 was quickly dashed like so many and in the scramble to find new dates, they picked 13th March 2021. A summer wedding with two beautiful souls!
As always, I check and re-check and check again the weather a few days before a wedding, the schedule was 28 degrees, not a single cloud in the sky (not my idea of a “perfect day”), so already my mind is going to idea to find shady spots that we could use for their creative shoot. But, the day before, things looked like it was changing. Cloud was predicted, with possible shower in the evening. I arrived at the Country House at Kay and Monty, 31 degrees, before I left for the ceremony, 33 degrees. During the ceremony, RAIN! But oh so humid. More rain. Then cloudy. Then slight drizzle, then nothing. But a clear horizon and a cloud bank above it. I told Josh (the videographer), its going to be BANGING. I didn’t lie. All the colours. From orange to purple, it was there. What a sunset!
Sharlize and Adriaan, what can I say about your day. Perfection seems to cliché. But, it really was. I don’t think I have ever seen a more emotional dad than Sharlize’s father and the fact that he didn’t hide it, was so freaking awesome.
Thank you for choosing us to capture your special day, the tears, the laughs, Catherine and her stunning little flower girl dress, those freakin horses, spraying me with champagne (for the photo), trusting your groomsmen not to drop either of you, getting in the canoe, cos I think the photo will be a banger with mash and just being you two. I loved being there and I wish you both all the best for your future (and future golden retrievers!).
