Sunsets on Robberg Nature Reserve are incredibly special!
Adventure sessions are quickly becoming one of my favourite things to photograph.
No timelines. No rushing. No pressure. Just two awesome humans, an incredible location and a couple of hours spent exploring together.
Brandon and Simone, thank you for choosing me to capture this exciting season of your lives. It was such a pleasure spending the evening with you both before your wedding celebrations in America.
Robberg Nature Reserve definitely decided to put on a show for us. The ocean was wild, with huge waves crashing against the cliffs and spray filling the air, creating some seriously epic scenery. It was one of those evenings where every time we turned a corner there was another backdrop that made us stop and say, “Okay… just one more photo!”
One of my favourite parts of any shoot is simply getting to know the people standing in front of my camera. We chatted about how you met, your plans for your wedding in America, life, travel and just about everything in between. By the end of the evening, it honestly felt like we were old friends catching up rather than photographer and couple.
As the sun disappeared below the horizon, we finished the shoot in one of Robberg’s little caves, lighting sparklers and soaking up those last magical moments together. Then came the walk back in the dark, still chatting away, laughing and reliving the adventure we’d just shared.
Brandon and Simone, thank you for your trust, your laughter and for fully embracing everything the evening threw at us, including the roaring ocean! I hope your wedding in America was every bit as incredible as the two of you deserve.
Maybe one day our paths will cross again, somewhere else in the world, chasing another adventure together.

Robberg Nature Reserve is one of those places that never loses its magic. With rugged cliffs, endless ocean views, secluded beaches and winding coastal trails, it’s a place where nature puts on a show at every turn. Whether the sea is calm and glassy or waves are crashing against the rocks below, every visit feels a little different, making each experience as memorable as the last.
Beyond the breathtaking scenery, Robberg is alive with wildlife. Dolphins regularly cruise through the bay, Cape fur seals play in the surf below the cliffs, and during whale season, Southern Right and Humpback Whales can often be spotted offshore. As the sun begins to set, the reserve is bathed in warm golden light, creating the perfect backdrop for adventurous couples, growing families and unforgettable moments. It’s a place that encourages you to slow down, explore together and simply enjoy being surrounded by the incredible beauty of the Garden Route.
